KIEV, May 24 -- France's Lyon clinched its 5th UEFA Women's Champions League title here on Thursday after beating Germany's Wolfsburg 4-1 in extra time.
The game was held at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Dynamo stadium in front of some 16,000 spectators.
Lyon, who was widely seen as a favorite of the match, has slightly dominated the game, which ended goalless in the regular time.
But it was Wolfsburg that broke the deadlock with a powerful shot by Pernille Harder three minutes into the extra time.
Amandine Henry equalized the score in the 98th minute, while Eugenie Le Sommer put Lyon ahead just a minute later.
In the 103rd minute, Ada Hegerberg scored the third goal for Lyon, while Camille Abily sealed the win for the French side at the dying minutes of the extra time.
With the victory, Lyon became the first team ever to win five Women's Champions League titles and the first side to win the titles three years in a row.
